Undergoing an MBA
course is catching fancy simultaneous to the open door business policy of the
Govt. Of India to promote trade and per capita income of its citizens. Every
corporate house looks for qualified, able and competent managers in all
streams. As a result there are so many Management Colleges all over the country
offering under graduate, graduate and post graduate courses. Despite claims of
being the best, many shortcomings are found in the management and systems which
result in students crash landing because either the quality of education is not
up to mark or placements are not happening months and years after graduating.
This is a point to ponder to ensure a good future of the employable youth of
the nation.
To meet the
international standards the management colleges must have adequate
infrastructure viz. building; space; finance; linkage to corporate world and
society at par; a true professional and disciplined work culture; publications
like journals, books, magazines; completion of syllabus in addition to extra
inputs on latest managerial trends in this rapidly changing scenario; excellent
results with university merit
positions, and placements on top of all this. Obviously to make it possible one
needs renowned academicians as part of management supported by highly
proficient and competent faculties with an equally able supporting team . A
continuous assessment system in place for students uplift supported by career
counseling to provide them proper direction is also an important ingredient.
A well stocked library ; digital library;
book- bank; e-learning material is a must to produce true professionals. While
rewarding the meritorious students, special attention must be paid to the
weaker ones as well a financial subsidy for the economically poor section would
help to strike a balance and achieve best results. Of course WI-FI internet
connectivity is a prerequisite of the time combined with extra curricular
activities to polish skills of the wards.
Looking at the above
it may not be easy to explore and compare colleges at a wider level. But at
Haryana level The Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET),
